Donate / Contact UsDonating Materials to the Lower Windsor Area Historical Society
The Lower Windsor Area Historical Society's mission includes collecting and and preserving materials and information from any era that help to illuminate our community's past. Presently, all information is collected digitally and will be available on our website.
We collect what to most people would seem like ordinary material--family photographs and snapshots, postcards, memorabilia--pertaining to local businesses, organizations, churches, houses, local celebrations, school days, leisure activities, and more. We are always interested in the early days, but all material is welcome. We make copies of documents and photos and take photographs of artifacts, after which we return them to their owners
We are also interested in preserving local “memories” – tales of the old days, what it was like when… Recently, many members of the Susquehanna Senior Center and Martinsville Alumni group, participated in an Oral History program with York College; the interviews are now preserved at York College and the York County Heritage Trust. Anyone who wants to talk about the “old days” is encouraged to contact us!
Any current or former resident with historical items that may be of interest should call the Historical Society at (717) 246-8735 or email at info@LowerWindsor-Area.org for further information.
